About Radman Associates
Specialists in Radiation Protection
Radman Associates are the UK's longest established firm of independent Radiation Protection Advisers.
Established in 1984 by John Collins, former head of the Radiation Protection Service at the University of Manchester, Radman Associates have been at the forefront of radiation control for over 30 years, providing RPA services and RPS training to all sectors of industry, research and education.
The range of clients seeking advice reflects the variety of applications to which ionising radiations are put, including the use of:
-
Sealed sources or X-rays for controlling processes, often by the measurement of level, density moisture or flow-rate (e.g. steel works, paper and textile mills; canning plants; civil construction; petrochemicals)
-
Unsealed sources as radiotracers (e.g. pharmaceutical/ biotech. companies, research institutes and universities)
-
Sealed sources or X-rays in non-destructive testing (x and gamma radiography);
-
Unsealed radioactive materials in component manufacture (e.g. electronics and defence)
In addition to advising on the statutory requirements of legislation affecting radiation protection, the firm offers various technical support services, runs numerous courses on radiation protection and undertakes radiological surveys of laboratories, buildings, contaminated land and the environment.
