Laboratory Radiochemicals
Radiation Protection Supervisor Course (2-day)
Designed for those using unsealed radioactive materials in tracer quantities, this course has an emphasis on practical contamination control in the laboratory.
Special attention is given to your particular use of radiochemicals, the regulatory requirements for ensuring radiological safety, and risk assessment of radionuclides in research.
An interactive video of a bench procedure requires you to identify shortfalls for later discussion, and evening syndicates study real laboratory-scale incidents for reporting on the following day.

"Good presentations and excellent course content. Thank you!"

"Very well presented and structured - it made the duties of an RPS clear and gave good insight into radiation safety. The incident reviews and group exercises provoked good ideas and thought processes which are necessary for practical application."
M.A. HPA Porton Down
"I thought the course was excellent. The tutors were highly knowledgeable and approachable. I was pleased that the specific isotopes we deal with was given due attention, with specific examples. There was a lot of information to digest, but the course notes are detailed enough to refer back to."
L.R. Upstate Biotechnology
The course was very useful to me. As I had no practical experience working with radioactive sources, I was worried that the course would be too complex for me; however, this was not the case and everything was well explained and easy to make sense of. I now feel that I can confidently carry out my duties as RPS and if I ever have problems that the RPA is always there to help!
