The Ionising Radiations Regulations 1999 (IRR99) All users of radioactive sources, X-ray sets or radiation generators are required to work within the strict conditions of these Regulations (made under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974) and the accompanying Approved Code of Practice. As RPA's to industry Radman assist in all technical
and legislative aspects of radiation protection. The Radioactive Substances Act 1993RSA93 requires users to be licensed in respect of
the keeping and application of radioactive materials and for the accumulation
and disposal of radioactive waste. Road Transport Regulations 2002The Radioactive Material (Road Transport) Regulations 2002 place responsibilities on both the consignor and the carrier of radioactive packages on public roads. Largely, the regulations are concerned with packaging and labeling requirements, placarding of vehicles, consignment certificates, and contingencies for accident or loss.
